Mission Pharmacal Company (“Mission”) is a privately held pharmaceutical company based in San Antonio, Texas. For more than 70 years, the company has been improving the lives of people, through every stage of life, by identifying unmet healthcare needs and delivering innovative, high-quality prescription, over-the-counter products and medical devices to meet these needs using only the purest ingredients and state-of-the-art methods of manufacturing.

Objectives

Zii3's initial consulting project focused on the sales and marketing of Mission’s COMPETE Energy Bites product. In early 2017, Zii3’s role with Mission Pharmacal was expanded to include marketing planning and execution for the consumer healthcare brands; Dr. Smith’s Diaper Rash Ointment and Spray, Dr. Smith’sAdult Barrier Spray, Lycelle Head Lice Treatment and Thera-Gesic analgesic cream. A strategic marketing plan was created to increase brand awareness and sales through an aggressive digital marketing campaign. Specific initiatives included,

  • Significant package revisions for several brands and SKU’s
  • Creative content developed for use in digital and video campaigns
  • New, SEO friendly websites created
  • Organic and paid Social Media campaigns created utilizing Facebook, Instagram and YouTube

Results

Distribution was secured for COMPETE Energy Bites with the largest US supplement distributor Europa. IRI sales data was monitored weekly to track improvements. Results included a 95% increase in unit sales at Walgreens for the Lycelle Head Lice product and a 34% increase in unit sales for the Dr. Smith’s Baby Ointment product at Walgreens.
